Abstract

The article presents an integrative model for understanding psychosomatic conditions through the interaction between neuroception, basic emotional systems, and mentalization. It analyzes how the perception of safety or threat influences affective regulation and psychosomatic symptoms within the biopsychosocial framework. The model enhances the understanding of mentalization by emphasizing the role of bodily states and the integration of physiological signals in emotion regulation. This perspective offers new opportunities for therapeutic interventions aimed at improving affective regulation and psychosomatic conditions.
