Abstract

Тoday, the challenges and fundamental changes in the delivery of health services are significant. Most of these challenges are universal to all countries in the field of health care and those that have the greatest impact on the system are the increasing demand for health and social services due to the increase in the proportion of elderly people who need care, the increasing expectations of citizens to reduce inequalities, access to quality-assured services and evidence-based care, the complexity of caring for people with acute and chronic illnesses, the requirement to contain healthcare costs and to optimize the use of resources while ensuring as much as possible good health care under limited budget conditions, the increasing mobility of patients, the obvious need to manage the huge amounts of health information that must be available in a timely manner, in different places, at the point of need for clinical, administrative and other purposes.
