As the global population ages, addressing the social and emotional needs of the elderly becomes increasingly critical. Loneliness and social isolation are prevalent among older adults, leading to adverse health outcomes. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) presents new opportunities to mitigate these issues. This paper explores how AI can be utilized to alleviate loneliness among the elderly while emphasizing the irreplaceable value of human companionship over AI interactions.
