This paper addresses the problem of secure communication between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems in enterprises based on the Internet of Things (IoT). A comparative analysis of three widely adopted architectural models is conducted, namely the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA), the Industrial Demilitarized Zone (IDMZ) model, and the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). The analysis is performed using criteria related to security, scalability, interoperability, and communication infrastructure performance. To evaluate the architectural models, a methodology based on qualitative analysis of their characteristics and a comprehensive assessment using predefined criteria is developed. The results indicate that architectures based on Zero Trust principles provide a higher level of security and greater adaptability to the dynamic requirements of industrial IoT environments. Based on these findings, conclusions are drawn regarding the applicability of the examined architectural models for the integration of ERP and SCADA systems in modern enterprises.
