Abstract

Motivation for applying to military educational institutions is a key factor in the process of professional choice. Furthermore, the subsequent training and development of future military personnel
are fundamental for it. The aim is to analyze the psychological aspects of motivation for choosing military education, with an emphasis on the interaction between internal and external motivational factors, personality characteristics, and value operations. Basic theoretical approaches to motivation are reviewed, and typical motivational profiles of candidates are outlined. Conclusions with practical implications for the system of military education and professional selection are drawn.
