Creating a "space" responsive to the needs of young people is a combination of different approaches and methods. More than twenty years after the adoption of the "White Paper on Youth" (2001) and the inclusion of youth as a concept in European policy, an increasing number of youth centers have been established in Europe and around the world. This article examines the main social and physical aspects of the environment that are decisive in the spatial organization of contemporary youth centers. The study focuses on theoretical principles and models, as well as concrete examples from European architectural practice, over the past two decades.
